Rock in the Bog 2010 was expected to be the biggest and best yet in its 7 year history, but organisers expectations were surpassed when temperatures soared into the 30s over the weekend of the event, and ticket sales hit an all time high. Over the course of the weekend revellers enjoyed music from 8 live bands, including a very last minute addition to the line-up, recently signed local band 'The Will', who despite having only 48 hours notice managed to find time to rehearse with a stand-in guitarist and perform a 45 minute set on Saturday afternoon. The festival was opened on the Friday night with a celtic-folk-rock performance from 'The Fold', followed by Lewes' own 'Kondoms' who tore up the stage in their own inevitable style with a mix of covers that spanned 70s to current day. On the Saturday afternoon 'Porchlight Smokers' got procedings underway, followed by 'Hu Ha' and 'The Will', and as afternoon turned to evening the popular Sussex covers band 'Jellyhead' took to the stage to entertain the sizeable crowd, undoubtedly increasing their fan-base in the process!. Following their RITB debut in 2009 Superlungs returned to the event this year and demonstrated why they have been widely tipped to be 'a band to look out for'. The three man group performed an energetic set of their own material that went down a storm with the crowd, particularly the girls strangely enough! Last, but certainly not least, headline band Who's Who brought new meaning to the 'Rock' in Rock in the Bog on Saturday night, and showed just why they are the number one Who tribute band on the circuit. Performing many of the classic Who songs during their 2 hour set, including Pinball Wizard and Behind Blue Eyes, Who's Who have the performance style and musicality of their more famous counterparts down to a tee, and 'Bog Rockers' young and old loved it. And so it ended for another year with bleary eyed campers left to pack their tents on a sunny Sunday morn, and organisers revelling in the glory of a weekend that has been likened by many to the early days of Glastonbury and Woodstock. A festival that has a fantastic vibe, laid back atmosphere, great bands, and is true value for money.
